Obituary for Wilma Graddy
Wilma Graddy, 91, of Grayville, IL passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care & Rehab in Mount Carmel, IL.
She was born on March 7, 1924 in Grayville, IL the daughter of William and Iva (McGuire) Jordan.
Wilma treasured her children and loved spending time with her many grandchildren. She graduated Valedictorian of her class from Grayville High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for over twenty years at Modern Gas. Among Wilma’s hobbies, she enjoyed sewing, feeding and observing hummingbirds and also loved flowers. She was a lifelong member of Grayville Church of Christ and attended the Mount Carmel Church of Christ in Mount Carmel, IL.
She is survived by her five children, Linda (Don) Pettigrew of Albion, IL, George (Carolyn) Graddy of Lancaster, IL, Kathy Pierce of Evansville, IN, Marsha (Don) Brines of Mount Carmel, and Becky (Fred) McClane of Patoka, IN; fourteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; twenty one great great grandchildren; and brother, Jerry (Dottie) Jordan of Tell City, IN.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; one son, Gary Graddy; son in law, John Pierce; one granddaughter and one great great granddaughter.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, January, 4, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Graveside Services for Wilma will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville, IL with Pastor Randy Rice officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Wilma’s memory to the Mount Carmel Church of Christ, 2400 N Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
