Obituary for Dorothy Fullop
Dorothy Fullop, 69, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Villas of Hollybrook, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 7, 1952, in Ridgway, Illinois, the daughter of Edward A. and Ruth Ann (Naas) Drone. She married Joseph Patrick Fullop III on September 30, 1971, and together they enjoyed thirty-one years of marriage until his passing on January 17, 2003.

Dorothy was a graduate of College Grove High School in Tennessee. She was a star player on the basketball team and very proud of her achievements. Dorothy was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and the number on her jersey was retired. She felt very honored to be asked to speak at the retirement celebration of her basketball coach. Dorothy remained very active her whole life. She was very devoted to raising her children and was always active in whatever they were involved in. She was the first female Little League baseball coach in Mt. Carmel and also coached soccer. Dorothy would accompany her children on bicycles to St. Mary’s School each morning and made the return trip at the end of the school day. She was super competitive, and a hard worker and she passed those traits onto each of her children. Dorothy was an excellent seamstress, often making unique Halloween costumes for her children. She also had an embroidery business and worked as a painter for twenty years. Dorothy’s greatest love was her family and helping others. The memories she made with her family and friends will be cherished forever.

Dorothy leaves behind three sons, Joseph “Joshi” Fullop IV and wife Lindsey, Dr. Julko Fullop and wife Nikki, Dr. Janos Fullop and wife Vanessa; one daughter, Moneka Fullop; grandchildren, Aleena, Zorah, Tobias, Zadok, Julia, Addison, Siri, and Everly; brothers, Bernie (Carla) Drone, Fred (Beth) Drone, Tim (Bo) Drone, Ron (Karen) Drone, Tony Drone; sister, Barb Acord; sister-in-law, Kay Drone; brother-in-law, Bob Baumgart and many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Joe, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Phyllis Baumgart, Regina Schimp and her husband Bud; two brothers, Alfred Drone and Pat Drone.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Following the Visitation, no formal service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages Memorial Contributions to be made in Dorothy’s memory to Mt. Carmel Little League, or the Rockets Foundation. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
