Obituary for Vernadine M. Goodson
Vernadine M. Goodson, 96, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, Indiana. She was born on November 19, 1924 in Edwards County Illinois, the daughter of Alva L. and Anna Ada May (Beagley) Garman and was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Thomas and Bertha Crandall. She married Baisel D. Goodson Sr. on June 4, 1941 in Saint Charles, Missouri, and he preceded her in death.  Vernadine was a generous, kind and loving person. She was a passionate homemaker and farmer’s wife. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and gardening. During their retirement years, Vernadine and Baisel enjoyed fishing on Kentucky Lake.   Vernadine was devoted to her faith. She was a life-long member of the Free Methodist Church.  Vernadine will be lovingly missed by her son, Baisel, Jr.; grandchildren, Tonya Murphy, Jay (Kim) Goodson, Mark (Stacey) Goodson, Sean (Shari) Goodson, Kelly Goodson, Tim (Dewana) Goodson, Bill (Tanya) Goodson; bonus grandchildren, Brandy (Dan) Raines, Shelia (Justin) Smiddy, Winter (Shawn) Kennedy; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Vernadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Bill and Ron Goodson; granddaughter, Lisa Goodson; half- brothers, Cecil Harold, Lenard and Auda Garman. A private family Funeral Service will be held. Vernadine will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Vernadine’s memory to the Free Methodist Church and may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
