Obituary for William F. "Bill" Bailey

William F. “Bill” Bailey, 83, of Browns, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville, Illinois surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on November 28, 1934 in Albion, IL the son of Major and Ruth (Hinderliter) Bailey.  Bill married Sherry Bobbitt on June 18, 1988 and they enjoyed twenty-nine years of marriage. Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He graduated from Edwards County High School Class of 1954 and attended Wabash Valley College and Eastern Illinois University.  He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.  Bill never met a stranger and loved visiting with family and friends.  He was very active in the Albion Chowder that his father started.  Bill also loved attending many community events and socializing. He spent many years as a brick layer and was very proud of his work.  Bill also owned and operated a limousine service for twenty years.  He was a member of the Elks, Moose and Eagles.  Bill was also a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Mount Carmel, IL. Bill will be remembered by his loving wife, Sherry Bailey of Browns, IL; his children, Billie Lynn (JB) Young of Midland, TX, Randy (Lisa Cheng) Bailey of Paradise Valley, AZ, Rita (Steve) Firley of Scottsdale, AZ, Mitchell Bailey of Phoenix, AZ, Colleen (Steve Kuzmich) Bailey of Dallas, TX and William Major Bailey of Browns, IL; grandchildren, Macey Madding, Abby (Matt) King, Taylor Young, Kaley (Andrew) Lopez, Shannon Young and Darrell Cheng; step grandchildren, Chrissy (Carlos) Barradas, Rachel Reynolds, Brittney (Landon) Fewkes and Kaeli Reynolds; great grandchildren, Keegan Moore, Tessa Lopez and Emma Lopez; step grandchildren, Mario Barradas, Kya Dunn, Jackson Dunn, Jamison Wheedon, Zoey Wheedon, Taylor Fewkes and Brenley Fewkes; brother, Ed (Mary) Bailey of Albion, IL; along with several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Major and Ruth; three brothers, Melvin, Earl and Denny Bailey; and stepson, Jimmy Reynolds. Funeral Services will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.  Family and friends may gather for a Visitation from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to Edward’s County Senior Citizens, 323 N 5th Street, Albion, IL 62806. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.  To view Bill’s tribute wall, leave condolences and purchase flowers for the Bailey family, please visit www.KeepesFuneralHome.com.
