Obituary for Willard L. Lewis
Willard L. Lewis, 70, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his residence surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on March 4, 1948 in Shawneetown, IL the son of Willard and Helen (Holloway) Lewis.  He was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School class of 1966.  Willard married Sandra Hortin on September 28, 1968 and they enjoyed forty-nine years of marriage. Willard loved his family and was especially proud of his two sons and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.  His favorite time was spent on the river with his dog Sam.  He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.   Willard worked in the oilfield as a rig operator for over twenty years at Harrison Well Services. He will be missed by his family and friends. Willard will be remembered by his loving wife Sandra Lewis of Mount Carmel, IL; two sons, Willard (Randi) Lewis, Jr. of Mount Carmel and Jason (Jennifer) Lewis of Johnston City, IL; grandchildren, Bobbie Sue (Steven “Joey”) Luecke, Madison Lewis, McKinlee Lewis and baby Kolton Lewis on the way; Great grandchildren, Elliana Luecke,  brothers, Gary (Rose) Lewis of Mount Carmel and Larry Lewis of Princeton, IN; sisters, Sherry (Robert) Schmidt of Owensville, IN and Patricia Ewing of Grayville, IL; several nieces and nephews; along with several good friends. Willard was preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with Willard’s wishes he will be cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.  To view Willard’s tribute wall and leave condolences for the Lewis family, please visit www.KeepesFuneralHome.com.
