Obituary for Vivian L Colvin
Vivian L. Colvin, 95, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab with family by her side. She was born on December 15, 1920 in Wabash County, IL the daughter of Grover and Ida (Beakler) Phelps. Vivian was born into a large family having fifteen siblings.

She married Robert Warren Colvin on March 10, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1997. Together they enjoyed fifty four years of marriage. In Vivian and Roberts younger years it was common to find them at the bowling alley with friends.

Vivian was a master seamstress and loved making gifts for her family and friends. Vivian will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her son Robert Lee Colvin; two grandsons, Andrew Colvin and his wife Nancy of Hilliard, OH and Adam Colvin and his wife Sara of Glen Carbon, IL; great granddaughter, Hannah Colvin; and two great grandsons, Samuel and Jackson Colvin; brother Delbert Phelps; sister, Patricia Phelps; and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Colvin; and thirteen siblings.

Private family graveside services were held for Vivian on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mount Carmel, IL with Dr. James William’s officiating.
