Obituary for Virginia J. Williams
Virginia J. Williams, 80, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care & Rehab with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 31, 1936 in Wabash County, IL the daughter of Joseph and Virginia (Strine) Nagy, Jr. She married Robert K. Williams on September 19, 1953 in Lawrenceville, IL and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2012.
Virginia enjoyed cooking and was the proud owner of Willow Catering for many years. She faithfully served in her home church, Community Church of God and became an ordained minister on August 10, 2006. She was a very active member of the Women of the Church of God, Wabash Career Women’s Club and the Mount Carmel Women’s Club. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Virginia will be remembered by her daughter, Jeannine Aleman of Mount Carmel; sister, Jacqueline (Joseph) Collins of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter, Lydia Aleman; grandson, Robert Williams; aunt, Shirley Chapman of Indianapolis, IN; many loved nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Robert of fifty nine years; son, Eugene Williams.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Matt Richardson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia’s memory to Keepes Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
