Obituary for Tom J McRaven
Tom J. McRaven, 82, of Mount Carmel, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Tom was born the youngest of eight children on January 6, 1933 in Wabash County, IL, the son of Jesse Thomas and Josie (Rose) McRaven. He married Carol Sue Garrett and together they enjoyed spending time with their family, camping and going on vacations together. He was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed being outdoors. He worked as a Coca Cola Salesman for twenty years and a Machinist at Pacific Press & Shear for twenty years. Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue McRaven; two daughters, Sherry McRaven and Vicki (James) Wright; six grandchildren, Tracie (Tim) Guard, Travis (Chasity) Bates, Johnathan (Alissa) MendenHall, Austin, Becka and Cord Wright; great grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew and Riley Webb, Zachary and Emma Mendenhall, Ozzie, Emmitt and Amaris Bates, Teagan, Flynn and Keller Gaurd. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Sue Bates; seven siblings, Joe McRaven, Gladys Marie and Eva Lucille McRaven, Bessie Byrd, Jesse Bryant, Bonnie Storckman, Billie Riley and Ruby Cox. Per Toms wishes he will be cremated and no formal services will be held. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.
