Obituary for Steven J. "Birdy" Bertram
Steven J. “Birdy” Bertram, 60, of Mount Carmel, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Wabash General Hospital in Mount Carmel, IL surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 27, 1955 in Mount Carmel, the son of Deb Bertram and Mary (Gray) Frances.

Birdy was a true outdoorsman; enjoying fishing, arrowhead hunting and playing softball. Birdy loved his kids and grandchildren and treasured the time he spent with them. He was their biggest fan and enjoyed attending their sporting events. He was of Christian faith. Birdy will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Cory (Terri Willet) Bertram, Todd Bertram and Ryan (Tania) Bertram; grandchildren, Eli Bertram, Lexi Bertram, Emmalee Bertram and Brooklyn Bertram; brothers, Dick (Lola) Bertram and Paul Wetter; sister, Connie (Terry) Peach; several nieces and nephews.

Birdy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances Bell.

In keeping with Birdy’s wishes, he will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
