Obituary for Sandra K. Dooley
Sandra K. Dooley, 62, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 28, 1954 in Mount Carmel, IL the daughter of Waldo "Pete" and Betty (Lange) Harms. Sandra married her high school sweetheart, Bill Dooley on February 13, 1971 and again on February 14, 1992.
Sandy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was very important to her and she always put them first even during her illness. Sandy was a devoted homemaker and a great mother to her three children. She was a military wife for many years and her priority was to make sure the household ran smooth while Bill was active in the service. Sandy's greatest accomplishment was her family. She took great care in those that were close to her and always made them feel special and important.
Sandy retired from Champion Laboratories after twenty two years. Throughout this time she made many good friendships. During her working career, Sandy would pick up various jobs to help out with her family and to make sure her children didn't go without. Sandy had a very special relationship with her grandson, Pete who was Sandy's pride and joy. She loved animals especially her dog, Odie. She attended Pentecostal Faith Assembly in Friendsville, IL. Sandy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Sandy will be remembered by her loving husband of forty six years, Bill Dooley of Mount Carmel; two sons, William Dooley of KY and Jeremy (Ashley) Dooley of TX; daughter, Tiffany (Junior) Whitehouse of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Garrette "Pete" Franks, Kutter Franks, Kaylee Franks, Zachary Wheatley, Morgan Dooley, Ivy Dooley, and Hunter Dooley brothers, Steve (Robin) Harms and Allen Harms; two sisters, Brenda (Don) Jones and Carlena (Dewayne) Brewer; many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Harms; grandson, Christian Nathaniel; brother, Keith Harms; and step mother, Earlene Harms.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Pentecostal Faith Assembly. A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Church with Pastor Bill Reed officiating.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Sandy's memory to American Cancer Society, Southern Region, 4503 W De Young, Ste 200C, Marion, IL 62959. Envelopes will be at the Church or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
