Obituary for Ronald Dale Tinsley, Sr.
Ronald Dale Tinsley, Sr., 75, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Wabash General Hospital. He was born on November 9, 1947, in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Paul Edward Tinsley, Sr. and Helen Frances (Fowler) Tinsley. He married Carol Kay Pilkington on July 5, 1970, in Charleston, West Virginia, and they have celebrated fifty-two years of marriage.
Ronald faithfully served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked over thirty years at Napa Auto Parts, both in West Virginia and then Mount Carmel, where he retired as manager. Ronald liked trouble shooting car problems and was very helpful to his family and friends. He was easy going, kind spirited and loved to be involved with his family in whatever they were doing. Ronald enjoyed following his grandson’s sports activities. He enjoyed sitting outside on the deck and cooking on the grill. For his birthday, Ronald loved to have a family dinner at the Gerst Haus Restaurant. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Ronald leaves behind his loving wife, Carol Kay; son, Ronald Dale Tinsley II, and wife Alicia; two grandsons Grayson and Camden Tinsley; one sister, Kimberly Dawn West, and husband Vince; several nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gerald Edward Tinsley and Paul Edward Tinsley, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2023 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2023, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Gammon officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
