Obituary for Robert "Robb" Edgar Penwell
Robert E. “Robb” Penwell, 56, of Mount Carmel, passed away April 8, 2016 at his home.
He was born September 7, 1959 in Wooster Ohio, the youngest child of Edgar and Mary (Reaver) Penwell.
Robb was an avid outdoors man. He loved hunting, fishing and playing golf.
He was employed by the City of Mount Carmel and was known as “The Lawn Mower Man”. He loved his family and cherished his grandsons. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Robb is survived by his daughter, Brooke (Gerrod Birkla) Keepes; grandsons, Cade Keepes and Wes Stoll; brothers, Gary and his wife Peggy Penwell of Citrus Heights CA, Richard and his wife Patricia Penwell of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Joyce Althoff and Sharon Cotter of Columbus, OH, Lynne Seaton of Mount Carmel, Jane and her husband Noel Kimmel of Fort Wayne, IN; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Kong.
Robb was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Penwell; mother, Mary (Reaver) Penwell – Dilley, and one brother, John Penwell.
Friends and family may gather for a Visitation 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Jones officiating. Following the funeral service in keeping with Robb’s wishes, he will be cremated.
Memorial contributions may be made in Robb’s memory to the Wabash County Animal Shelter Buddies, 11336 N 1550 Blvd., Mt. Carmel, IL 62863. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
