Obituary for Robert Alan Burton
Robert Alan Rob Burton, 50, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away May 31, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 22, 1964 in Wabash County, Illinois to Robert E. and D. Joan Burton. Rob was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, Class of 1982. Rob loved to play games on his computer and Café World was his favorite, playing 3 years straight without missing a day. He loved his dogs, Maxx, Sammy and Bacon. He loved to grow both indoor and outdoor plants. Rob, was a real 60s guy, always wearing his tie dye shirts and hat. Most of all he loved his daughter, Mallissa, and his three beautiful grandchildren. He was a member of the Pentecostal Faith Assembly in Friendsville, IL. Rob is survived by his daughter, Mallissa (Mario) Alanis, Jewett, TX; mother, Joan Burton; siblings, Debbie (Bill) Reed, Dave Burton, Larry (Renee) Burton, all of Mt. Carmel, IL. Grandchildren, Jalynn, Tiffany, and Joshua Alanis, Nieces: Lori (Jesse) Kasinger, and Nikki Carey; Nephews: Heath (Jessie) Reed, Keith (Gloria) Reed, and Jeremy Burton. He had several great-nieces and great-nephews and Uncle Paul and Aunt Helen Burton of Mt. Carmel. He is also survived by his best friend and caregiver, Pete Sandlin, Lawrenceville, IL. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Ruth Burton; grandmother, Mary (John) Westerfield; grandfather, Bill Singer; father, Robert Burton; and niece, Lora Michelle Reed. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, his faithful dogs, and all of his Facebook friends, whom he enjoyed visiting with daily. Memorial contributions may be made in Robs memory to the Pentecostal Faith Assembly Building Fund. Memorial envelopes will be available at the church or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 N. Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Pentecostal Faith Assembly in Friendsville, IL. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the church with Pastor Bill Reed and Reverend Jesse Kasinger officiating. Burial will follow at Nye Chapel Cemetery.
