Obituary for Richard Lee "Dick" Wilkinson
Richard Lee “Dick” Wilkinson, 83, of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2017 in Houston, TX.  He was born on April 15, 1934 in Friendsville, IL the son of Pascal “Pete” and Beulah Wilkinson.  After attending Friendsville School through the eighth grade, Dick graduated from Mount Carmel High School Class of 1952.  After high school graduation, he completed junior college at Eastern Illinois State College before joining the United States Air Force.  After military service, Dick attended Oklahoma State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  He was employed by Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company for thirty years where he designed natural gas pipeline systems.  Dick enjoyed hunting and trap shooting especially with his friends at Panhandle Eastern.  After retirement, Dick returned every summer to Friendsville for an extended visit.  Where ever he lived he always considered Friendsville to be his home. Dick will be remembered by his wife, Lucinda Wilkinson; his three sons, Todd (Patti) Wilkinson, Bryan Wilkinson and Chris (Gina) Wilkinson; and five grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Ann Petsche; brothers, Jan Wilkinson; and infant brothers, Charles Wilkinson and Gene Wilkinson. Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Friendsville Cemetery.  A reception will follow at the Pentecostal Fellowship Hall in Friendsville, IL. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.  To view Dick’s tribute wall, leave condolences and purchase flowers for the Wilkinson family, please visit
