Obituary for Richard H. "Dickie" Hargrave
Richard H. “Dickie” Hargrave, 74, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 26, 1942 in Edwards County, IL the son of Elmer and Mable (Nading) Hargrave.
Dickie married Brenda Adams on April 2, 1966 and together they enjoyed fifty years of marriage. They loved traveling with family especially Lois & Ron Holcomb.
Dickie was very proud of his family and he was always putting them first. Spending time with his grandchildren always put a smile on his face. He was a hard worker and had a genuine willingness to help others. Dickie worked in the oilfields on drilling rigs for many years and later at Zachary Construction.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Hargrave of Mount Carmel; children, Misty (Roy) Parcell of Evansville, IN; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Parcell and fiancé, Aaron Ramsey, Matthew Parcell and Aimee Parcell; sisters, Charlotte Halleran of De Soto, IL and Lois Anderson of West Salem, IL. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Dickie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Minister Robert Harding officiating. Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dickie’s memory to the Allendale 1st Christian Church or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
