Obituary for Paul W. Kolb
Paul W. Kolb, 93, of Mount Carmel passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Wabash General Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. He was born April 1, 1924 in Princeton, IN the son of Paul H. and Cleo (Matz) Kolb. He married Helen Waddle on February 28, 1946 and together they have enjoyed seventy one years of marriage. Paul owned and operated Paul’s Welding Service for more than forty years. He truly enjoyed his work and was honored over the years to have constructed many items for St. Mary’s School. In his free time Paul enjoyed fishing, golf and playing cards with friends and family but his passion was for bird hunting.  He also enjoyed raising and training bird dogs. Paul was a member of the Mount Carmel Zoning Board for many years.  He was a faithful member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church where he served on the parish council. Paul loved his church and was proud of the work he did for the Cursillo retreats. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family meant the world to him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen Kolb; son, Richard (Linda) Kolb; daughter, Angie (Rodger) Beard; grandsons, John (Stephanie) Kolb, Joe Kolb, Micky (Mary Catherine) Deming, Tony Deming, Gus Kolb; great-grandchildren, Sydney & Bridger Kolb, Kryslyn & Jaycee Kolb, Lydia & Mark Deming and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Paul was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Phyllis Anne Kolb; son, John Robert Kolb. Family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00p.m. – 8:00p.m., Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Robert Zwilling officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to Saint Mary’s Church.Envelopes will be at the funeral home and at the Church or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements. To view Paul’s tribute wall, leave condolences and purchase flowers for the Kolb family, please visit www.KeepesFuneralHome.com.
