Obituary for Paul E. Deisher
Paul E. Deisher, 79, of Lancaster, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his residence with his loving wife and two daughters by his side. He was born on January 12, 1937 in Wabash County, IL the son of Estes and Hazel (Moade) Deisher. Paul married Loretta Green on June 30, 1956 and together they enjoyed sixty years of marriage. Paul and Loretta loved spending time with their family and always looked forward to their yearly trips to Branson, Missouri.
Paul will always be remembered as a very giving man who loved his family dearly. He was very gifted with his hands and if something was broken, Paul could fix it. He was a member of the Lancaster Church of Christ where he earned the title from the children as the “Tootsie Roll Man”. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Deisher of Lancaster; two daughters, Cassey (Mike) Courson of Beardstown, IL and Ronda (Thomas) Byrns of Lancaster, IL; one son, Kent (Shelly) Deisher of Allendale, IL; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Wever of Mount Carmel and Shirley McGarrah of Princeton, IN.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott “Buck” Deisher; grandson, Scotty Paul Deisher; and sister, Carolyn Sue Deisher.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., December 20, 2016 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will follow at Harrison Cemetery in Lancaster, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois, 800 E. Locust Street, Olney, IL 62450 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN. 38148-0142. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
