Obituary for Patricia "Patty" Ann Phelps
Patricia “Patty” Ann Phelps, 78, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away on Monday, March 07, 2016 at Wabash General Hospital in Mount Carmel.
She was born on February 12, 1938 in Evansville, IN, the daughter of Bailey and Frances (Yates) Phelps.
Patty began working at WAVE in 1973. She took great pride in her work and the friendships she made at WAVE. The Special Olympics program provided brought much joy to Patty’s life. Among her hobbies, she loved bowling, shopping and spending time with her family. Patty was a member of the First Apostolic Church and had a special love for her church family. Above all, Patty loved family and showed love to all who knew her.
She is survived by sisters, Brenda Windle of Mount Carmel, Peggy (Dean) Conners of Columbus, OH; brothers, Clarence Phelps and Richard (Bonnie) Phelps of Columbus, OH; several nieces and nephews, including, Todd (Nichol) Stuessel, Mendy (Keith) Claridge, Debbie (Charles) Maynard, Denise (Bill) Abbot, Jimmy Phelps, Craig Phelps, Ricky Phelps and Johnny Phelps; several great nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey and Frances (Yates) Phelps; brothers, Gene, Jack and Earle Phelps; brother in laws, Ed Stuessel and Richard Windle.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00 p.m., - 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Reverend Paul McGee, Jr officiating. Burial will follow at Corydon Cemetery in Corydon, KY.
Memorial contributions may be made in Patty’s memory to the family to help offset funeral expenses. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
