Obituary for Mary Alice Stringfellow
Mary Alice Stringfellow, 70, of Mount Carmel, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Helia Healthcare in Olney, IL. She was born on October 31, 1944 in Wade, Mississippi, the daughter of Earl and Frances (Johnson) Pipkins. She married George Stringfellow on October 28, 1960 and together they enjoyed fifty four years of marriage. Mary was a homemaker and loved her children and grandchildren. She had a very big heart and always put others needs before her own. In her free time, Mary along with her husband enjoyed fishing and spending time with their family. She attended Pleasant Grove Church. Mary will always be remembered for her giving spirit and will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, George Stringfellow of Mount Carmel; children, Angie Ferguson and Ricky Stringfellow both of Lucedale, MS, and Richard (Joyce) Stringfellow of Mount Carmel, IL; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Charles Pipkins of Wade, MS and Ann Emmons of Newton, MS. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ina Kay Stringfellow; grandson, Daniel Stringfellow; granddaughter, Allison Rachelle Stringfellow; and sister, Earlene Bryant. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Lick Prairie Church with Minister Brad Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Lick Prairie Cemetery. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Church. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.
