Obituary for Marvin Earl Washington
Marvin Earl Washington, Sr., 61, of Mount Carmel, IL formerly of Chicago, IL passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Wabash General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 20, 1953 in Jackson, MS, the son of Charlie and Percy Mae (Moore) Washington. Marvin loved his family and was a grandfather to many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Marvin had a tough love but his family always knew how much he loved them. He had a heart of gold and no matter if you were family or a friend, if you needed anything you could count on him. Marvin will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Percy Mae Washington of Jackson, MS; son, Marvin (Kayla) Washington, Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI; grandson, Jeremiah Washington; brother, Joseph Washington of Chicago, IL; sister, Diana Washington of Jackson, MS; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his father; sister, Marilyn Washington; and two brothers, Johnnie and Charlie Washington. Per Marvins wishes he will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. IM FREE Dont grieve for me, for now Im free Im following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My lifes been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Dont lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.
