Obituary for Maria "Mia" Josephina Huver
Maria “Mia” Josephina Huver, 93, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 8, 1926 in Schinveld, Netherlands, the daughter of Frans Johann and Maria Gertrud Helene (Kalberg) Jacobs. Mia was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. To her family she was the best “Oma” anyone could have. She enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them. Mia liked playing cards and board games with her grandchildren and they enjoyed it just as much. She enjoyed knitting and sewing in her spare time. Music brought her joy and she loved to dance. Mia was a member of the Five Islands Women’s Club. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Mia will be lovingly remembered by her children; Helena (Donald) Brown, Carolyn Sills, Linda (John) Holms, John (Dianna) Huver, Fran Wilson and Mary (Les) Majors; grandchildren; Amy (Matt) Trainor, Leah (Mike) Morong, Chad Sills, Angela (Kirk) Seifert, Beth Holms, John (Tanya) Huver, James Huver, Nicole More, Jennifer Anderson, Clint (Jenny) Anderson, Curt (Samantha) Majors, Lance (Shanna) Majors, Matt Majors and Leslie Berberich; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Toelie Hermans of Brunssum Netherlands; and several nieces and nephews. Mia was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and four sisters. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Father Robert Zwilling officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Mia’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
