Obituary for Kathryn A. "Ann" Lindqvist
Kathryn A. “Ann” Lindqvist, 72, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care & Rehab. She was born on July 3, 1944 in Gibson County, IN the daughter of Hershel and Joan (Pipp) Black. Ann married Urban Lindqvist and he preceded her in death.
Ann will be remembered by all for being a loving mother and a faithful friend. She lived a very active social life and treasured her time she spent with family and friends. Among her hobbies she loved to go bowling with friends, yoga and cheering on the Mount Carmel Golden Aces in football and basketball. Ann was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her.
Ann will be remembered by her daughter, Shannon Harding of Waukegan, IL; son, Scott Vanpelt and companion, Laura Stratton of Mount Carmel, IL; grandchildren, Savion, Isaiah, Katelyn and Ashley; brothers, Tim (Diann) Black of St. Francisville, IL and Tony Black of Villa Grove, CO. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Tom Black; and step mother, Lucille Black. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mount Carmel. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Immediately following the burial a celebration of Ann’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s memory to St. Mary’s School Renovation Fund or to St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund. Envelopes will be at the Church or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
