Obituary for Karen L. Russell
Karen L. Russell, 66, of Mount Carmel, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Wabash General Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born on January 16, 1949 in Wabash County IL, the daughter of Austin and Pansy (Adams) Howder. She married David Russell on May 23, 1987. Karen had a heart of gold and loved being with her family. She knew how to be the life of the party and had a great sense of humor. Bingo and card games were Karens favorite pastimes. She worked as a waitress in several area restaurants. She attended Heartland Worship Center. Karen will be missed by her family and friends. Karen is survived by her husband, David Russell of Mount Carmel; children, Kevin (Jenny) Adams of Mount Carmel, Patrick (Christina) Adams of Crossville, IL, and Katrina Smith of Evansville, IN; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, James Howder, Kathy Byrns and Patricia Deisher all of Mount Carmel; several nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Winnie Green; brothers, Kenny and Robert Howder; and brother in law, Benny Byrns. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Heartland Worship Center, 212 West 2nd Street, Mount Carmel with Minister Tony Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Wabash County, IL. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Keepes Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses. Memorial envelopes will be available at the church or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry, Mount Carmel, IL 62863 Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.
