Obituary for K. Clyde Lewis
K. Clyde Lewis, 64, of Allendale, IL passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Wabash General Hospital in Mount Carmel.
He was born on December 18, 1951 in Lawrence County, IL the son of Bernard and Norma (Breen) Lewis. Clyde married Judy Walter on May 20, 1977 in Mount Carmel, IL and together they enjoyed thirty nine years of marriage.
Clyde loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and training bird dogs. He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 and the Allendale Masonic Lodge.
Clyde will be remembered by his wife, Judy Lewis of Allendale, IL; children, Jake (Krissy) Lewis of Mount Carmel, John Lewis of Allendale, IL and Judd (Jasmyne) Lewis of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Alexis Lewis, Jace Lewis and Easton Lewis; mother, Norma Lewis of St. Francisville; siblings, Bernie (Sue) Lewis of Allendale, Theresa (Larry) Sloss of Mount Carmel and Tam (Mark) McFarland of Allendale; many loved nieces and nephews. Clyde will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Clyde was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Lewis.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m., following a Masonic Service at the Funeral Home. Following the service in keeping with Clyde’s wishes cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made in Clyde’s memory to the Allendale Masonic Lodge or to St. Mary’s School Renovation Fund. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
