Obituary for Juanita A. Meadows
Juanita A. Meadows, 87, of Mount Carmel, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Wabash General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 12, 1927 in Richland County, IL, the daughter of Ellis and Elsie (Marks) Buckles. She married Harold L. Meadows on June 29, 1946 in Olney, IL and they enjoyed sixty plus years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 12, 2008. Juanita was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Dennis Wayne Meadows; and infant great grandson, Gaige Brucks. Juanita was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking. In her younger years she enjoyed camping, boating, trips to Florida, the great outdoors and playing cards with friends. Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were Juanitas favorite TV programs and she enjoyed playing along. She treasured time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Juanita was a member of Mount Carmel Church of Christ. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Larry (Sherry) Meadows, Lonnie (Martha) Meadows and Rick Meadows all of Mount Carmel; six grandchildren, Chris Meadows, Tim (Chrisy) Meadows, Eric (Jennifer) Meadows, Telisa Brucks and fiancé, Kent Rish, Jamie (Matt) Casarotto, Mike Meadows; ten great grandchildren, Julien and Chandon Brucks, Brayden Rish, Morgan and Madelyn Meadows, Rylee and Dylan Casarotto, Haylee and Owen Meadows, Jacob Meadows and two on the way; brothers, Clyde (Loretta) Buckles of West Salem, IL, Darrel Buckles of Grayville, IL; sister, Rowena Bunting of Bone Gap, IL; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Mount Carmel Church of Christ, 2400 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL with Jim Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Juanitas memory to Gospel Chariots.
