John F. Byrns

John F. Byrns, 76, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born September 11, 1939 in Gibson County, IN the son of John and Dessil (Slunder) Byrns.

John always had a smile and was very kind hearted. He loved to share caramel candy with everyone he would meet along with a good story. He was very proud of his children and his grandchildren. John made many friends and was proud of his work at Snap on Tools for over twenty years. He also worked at Rural King in Mount Carmel. John was a member of the Eagles. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

John will be remembered by his four sons, Tony Byrns of Mount Carmel, Jerry Byrns of Mount Carmel, Johnny Byrns of Albion, IL and Allen Byrns of Oakland City, IN; four daughters, Janet Byrns of Mount Carmel, Alice (Todd) Smith of Swayzee, IN, Nancy Byrns and Vickie Byrns both of Mount Carmel; eleven grandchildren and sixteen grandchildren; brother, Bill (Virginia) Byrns of Owensville, IN; three sisters, Ellen (Corum) Evans of Patoka, IN, Nancy (Stacy) Bradham of IN and Sue Kioeppner of MO.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Byrns and his brother in law, Don Kioeppner.

A private family visitation was held in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home to honor the life of John. In keeping with John’s wishes he will be cremated and a burial will take place at Maumee Cemetery in Johnson, IN.
