WHERE LIFE & MEMORIES ARE HONOREDJames “Jimmie” Carson Reed, 58, of, Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in Mount Carmel, Illinois. He was born on May 12, 1965 at Wabash General Hospital in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the son of James Reed and Peggy (Shepard) Teague.
A nature lover at heart, Jimmie cherished his time outdoors where he loved to fish and hunt. He had a passion for cooking and listening to music. Jimmie could be described as a private person who mostly kept to himself. He did look forward to spending time with his family and friends. Jimmie thoroughly enjoyed spending his Wednesdays with Paislee and letting her boss him around. He was an electrical engineer for many years where he served with dedication while employed at Underwriters Laboratories. Jimmie will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Jimmie will be remembered by his daughter, Alisha Reed; mother, Peggy (Alan) Teague of Jasper, IN; father, James Reed of Mt. Carmel, IL; sisters, Susan (Lloyd) Hughes of Mt. Carmel, IL, Tory Lee Reed of Chandler, IN, Jamie (Stan) Kujawa of Evansville, IN and Tina Hargan of Poseyville, IN; grandfather, Carson L. Reed of Anderson, IN; nieces, CJ, Jessie, Ashlie, Shea (Tristan), Savannah, Lexi, Paislee and Lacey; great-nephews, Xane, Torryn, Carsyn, and Harlan; many extended family members; and kitty fuzz, Magic.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frances and Jesse Shepard; paternal grandmother, Betty Reed; stepmother, Victoria Reed; brother, Scott Sharp; nephew, Logan Reed; and niece, Victoria Kujawa.
In keeping with Jimmie’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
