Obituary for James H. "Jim" Nation
James H. “Jim” Nation, 85, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab.  He was born on February 13, 1933 in Mount Vernon, Indiana the son of Homer and Mary Jane (Mosley) Nation.  Jim married Mary Sue Gross and together they enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage centered on family. Jim faithfully served in the United States Army.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and treasured the time he spent with him.  He was a very hard worker where he worked in the oilfields as a deckhand.   Among his free time, Jim loved to watch football and was always rooting for the underdog.  Jim will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Jim will be remembered by his loving wife, Mary Nation of Mount Carmel, IL; three sons, Thomas (Rebecca) Hammond of Mount Carmel, Jim (Cathy) Nation of Keensburg and Darrin Nation of Mount Carmel; two daughters, Mary Bridwell of Sumner, IL and Kathy Ellington of Sumner, IL; seventeen grandchildren; many loved great grandchildren; three brothers, Donald Nation of Mount Vernon, IL, Eddie Nation of Evansville, IN and Rodger Nation of Evansville, IN; sister Judy Nation of Mount Vernon, IN; serval nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; two sisters; and four brothers. In keeping with Jim’s wishes he will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.  To view Jim’s tribute wall and leave condolences for the Nation family, please visit www.KeepesFuneralHome.com.
