Obituary for James D. Perry
James D. Perry, 64, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the home of his sister, Kathy. He was born on October 19, 1957, in Munich, Germany, the son of Norman and Marjorie (Carter) Perry.

James faithfully served his Country in the United States Army where he was stationed for a time in Frankfurt West Germany. He was employed as a Boiler Maker in the power plant industry. In his spare time, James enjoyed fishing and spending time at the river. He liked to collect old coins, browsing antiques and it was always a good day when he found the perfect treasure. James was very proud of his family and loved them dearly. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

James leaves behind two sons, James (Christina) Grahm, Christopher J. Perry; one daughter, Katelyn (John) Randall; grandchildren, Lucas, Ezeekiel, Maycee, Zoie, and Cali; step grandchildren, Jared White, David & Haley Montgomery; step great-grandchildren, Malah Montgomery and Eden Edwards; sister, Kathy (Billy) Adams; several loved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and good friend, Larry Saltsgaver.

James was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Diana Gourley; three brothers, Norman L. Perry Jr., John Richard Perry, William “Wild Bill” Perry; and one nephew, Larry Perry.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will follow Visitation at 3:30 p.m., at Highland Memorial Cemetery, in Mt. Carmel Illinois, with Pastor Tony Hodgson officiating. James’ service to his country will be honored with Full Military Honors.

Memorial contributions may be made in James’ memory to the Wabash County Animal Shelter Buddies. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
