Obituary for James "Jim" Edward Wood
James Edward “Jim” Wood, 64, of Mount Carmel, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Wabash General Hospital. He was born February 11, 1952 in Wabash County, IL the son of Mitchell and Hazel (Mae) Wood.
Jim worked in the heating and air business. He was a Journeyman employed at Indiana University. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and also venturing out to different areas to observe baby eagles. Jim always had a smile on his face and was willing to help those in need. He loved socializing and could often be found sharing a cup of coffee with friends at Twin Rivers Restaurant. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim will be remembered by his two sons, James (Kelly) Wood Jr. of Newburgh IN and Zachary (Tabetha) Wood of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren, Hannah, Mia and Johnathan Wood; brothers, Floyd (Mary Ann) Wood of Lawrenceville, Lloyd Wood of Allendale, Mitchell (Maxine) Wood of Mount Carmel; sister, Ruby Wood of Mount Carmel.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Debra Wood; three sisters and three brothers.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Minister Floyd Wood officiating. Following the service, Jim will be cremated and burial will take place at a later date.
