Obituary for James A. "Jim" Howder
James A. “Jim” Howder, 70, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Wabash General Hospital in Mount Carmel, IL surrounded by the love of his family. Jim was born on September 26, 1946 in Wabash County the son of Austin and Pansy (Adams) Howder. He was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School Class of 1966.
Jim’s family was very important to him and he loved the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren. He was a dedicated employee of Lambert & Hood Oil Company and Big Heart Oil Company where he worked for over twenty years. He also worked as a truck driver for Pearson Logging until his retirement. During his working career, Jim made many friendships. He was of Christian faith and was recently baptized at Heartland Worship Center. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Jim will be remembered by his three daughters, Michelle Spruell of Mount Carmel, Jenna (Jason Hornby) Howder of Francisco, IN and Jamie Howder of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Cody Barber, Ashley Spruell, Branden Spruell, Tyler Snow, Lexi Snow and Julian Hornby; one great grandson, Deirek Spruell; two sisters, Kathy Byrns and Patricia Deisher both of Mount Carmel; many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Karen Russell and Winnie Green; brothers, Kenny and Robert Howder.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Wabash County, IL.
