Obituary for Jack Lee "Jackie" Rhinehart
Jack Lee “Jackie” Rhinehart, 70, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at his residence surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was born on February 25,1952 in Princeton, Indiana, the son of Elmer Jack and Inez Louise (Greene) Rhinehart.

Jack graduated Mount Carmel High School Class of 1970. Following graduation, Jack went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in 1975 from Southern Illinois University (SIU) he then interned with Common Cause in Springfield, IL. He earned an Associate’s Degree in 1977 from Frontier Community College in Robinson, Illinois with a degree in Petro Chemical. In the late 1970’s Jack worked as a Roughneck with Schlensker Drilling. In 1984, Jack started working with Northwest Airlines in Chicago, Illinois. In 1986, Jack transferred to Memphis, TN with the airlines. He continued to work with the airlines and retired after twenty-seven years. He was then with Delta Airlines working with the ramp crew. Jack made many friends working with the airlines. He traveled all over the US, Canada, Europe and Amsterdam. In 2017, Jack decided to move from Memphis back to his hometown of Rochester, IL. He spent five years near his home of Beall Woods and Keensburg, IL (aka Rochester).

Jack never met a stranger and his laugh was contagious. He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed cheering for San Francisco Giants baseball and the Washington Redskins football. In his free time, Jack also enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. Two of his closest companions were his dogs Addie/2019 and Rochester, whom he was devoted to and loved so much. He delighted in taking them on his trips back and forth to Memphis. Jack will be missed by his family and friends.

Jack will be remembered by his daughter, Tori Rhinehart; one grandchild, Austin Lee; many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Terry Rhinehart.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
