Obituary for Helen R. Eastman
Helen R. Eastman, 66, of Mount Carmel, IL went to be with her Lord & Savior on Monday, August 15, 2016 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 15, 1950 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Reverend James and Ruth (King) Eastman.
Helen was a licensed beautician and worked several years as a hairdresser. She was always involved in church where she taught Sunday School and was also a Youth Director. She loved helping with Bible School and also helping her dad with music. One of her favorite hymns that they wrote together was “I’m Going Home to Watch the Flowers Bloom”. She was a member of Heartland Worship Center and her faith was very important to her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen will be remembered by her god sister, Jackie (Tim) Knight; Goddaughter, Crystal Healy; and her Godchildren, William and Clarissa Healy all of Mount Carmel; aunt, Joann (Marv) Doolin of Springfield, IL. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lois Eastman and best friend, Dorothy Davis.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Celtic Healthcare especially nurses, Joetta, Amanda and Candy for the compassionate care given to Helen.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Heartland Worship Center, 212 W. 2nd Street, Mount Carmel, IL.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the church with Pastor Tony Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Carmel.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to Heartland Worship Center. Envelopes will be at the Church or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
