Obituary for Hazel Eblen
Hazel Eblen, 80, of Mount Carmel, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on February 19, 1934 in Hart County KY, the daughter of Brownie and Ethel (Howell) Meeks. Hazel married Edgar Eblen on September 23, 1951. Together they enjoyed sixty three years of marriage. Hazel was a Homemaker and she loved her family. She will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Edgar Eblen of Mount Carmel; children, Bill (Diane) Eblen of Evansville, IN, Charlotte Killion of Littleton, CO, Richard Eblen of Washington, IN, David Eblen and John Folsom of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Alex Eblen, Cory Eblen, Scott Killion and Jeremy Lindauer; great grandchildren, Hannah, Sam, Sophie and Grace Eblen; siblings, Virgina Seaton, Myrtle (Vic) Carlstrom, Joan ( Marsh) Spencer, Herbert Meeks, Harold Meeks and Bobby Meeks; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alvis and Floyd Meeks; and sister, Katherine Wilson. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 512 North Mulberry, Mount Carmel. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at Tomblinson Funeral Homes, Henderson Chapel, 325 First St., Henderson, KY. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until time of service. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole KY. Memorial contributions may be made in Hazels memory to Alzheimers Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800 Chicago, IL 60631.
