Obituary for George S. Fischer
George S. Fischer, 71, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 31, 2020 at his residence. He was born on March 3, 1948 in Wabash County, Illinois, the son of Carl and Mary Alice (Banks) Fischer.  George faithfully served his Country in the United States Army. He loved to read Christian books and growing in his faith. George’s family held a special place in his heart and he always treasured his time he spent with them.   He was very passionate about his work at Caterpillar. He fought a valiant battle with cancer showing great courage.  He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.  George will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Mary Meacham of Georgia; many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Potts; brothers, Charles Fischer and Fred Fischer. In keeping with George’s wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be held. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements. To view George’s tribute wall and leave condolences for the Fischer family, please visit www.keepesfuneralhome.com
