Obituary for Franklin E. "Frank" Pemberton
Franklin E. “Frank” Pemberton, 78, of Aiken, South Carolina formerly of Allendale, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Harper Chase Assisted Living with his family by his side. He was born April 18, 1938 in St. Francisville, IL, the son of Donald Franklin and Dorothy Mae (Smith) Pemberton. He married Maxine Chapman on September 13, 1959 and together they have enjoyed fifty six years of marriage.
Frank worked as an executive for Ashland Oil Company for more than thirty years. He was a 1956 graduate of Allendale High School and graduated from Georgia State University in 1966. Frank belonged to the Allendale Masonic Lodge 752 and was a member of the First Christian Church of Allendale. He loved to hunt and fish. Frank was a real family man and very supportive of all of his loved ones. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was proud of being a great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
Frank will be remembered by his loving wife, Maxine Pemberton; sons, Brad (Tonya) Pemberton and Bill Pemberton of Aiken, SC; daughter, Nancy Jordan of Allendale, IL; seven grandchildren, Lake Pemberton, Kailie Pemberton, Brooke Leek, Kyle Leek, Eli Jordan, Helaina Pemberton, Malia Pemberton; great granddaughter, Lily Pemberton. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Nalley.
Family and friends are invited to gather 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be conducted immediately following visitation at 7:00p.m.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery in Allendale, IL with Full Military Honors.
Memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
