Obituary for Frances (Wiseman) Tennis
Frances (Wiseman) Tennis, 91, of Mount Carmel, passed away August 17, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born April 30, 1925 in Wabash County IL, the daughter of Bryan B. and Christina (Gilkison) Wiseman. Frances married Herman Tennis on April 30, 1951 in Wabash County and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2002 after fifty one years of marriage.
Frances was employed many years at Wabash General Hospital as an admissions clerk and completed her career babysitting her grandchildren. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution. Frances enjoyed researching family genealogy. She was a very artistic person and loved creating pencil drawings. Frances enjoyed attending Amish quilt auctions and was proud of her collection of handmade quilts. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she loved spending time with them. Frances was of Christian faith and was a member of Bellmont United Methodist Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Frances will be remembered by her daughter, Conni and her husband James Harness; son, Ronald Tennis both of Mount Carmel; granddaughter, Cathryn “Caryn” and her husband Jordan Spencer; grandson, Bryan “Bry” Harness and his girlfriend Bailey Goebel; and one brother, Robert C. and Nell (Tanquary) Wiseman of Charleston, IL.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman Tennis; and one sister, Gladys Nacht.
Family and friends are invited to gather 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Bellmont, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made in Frances’ memory to Bellmont United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
