Obituary for Frances Earlene Harms
Frances Earlene Harms, 82, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Wabash General Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born on January 25, 1934 in Mount Carmel the daughter of Earl and Edna (Pate) Lambert. Earlene married Waldo “Pete” Harms on August 1, 1964 at the Christian Church in Allendale, IL. Together they enjoyed fifty two years of marriage.
Earlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She worked at Mount Carmel Apparel for 15 years and also as a cook at the Home Café. Earlene enjoyed baking and making candy. She loved to make cakes and pies for her friends to surprise them on their birthday. Earlene also enjoyed bowling with family and friends. She was a faithful member of Pentecostal Faith Assembly in Friendsville, IL where she loved to sing at church services and at funerals for her close friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Earlene will be remembered by her loving husband, Waldo “Pete” Harms of Mount Carmel; five sons, Allen Harms, Steve (Robin) Harms, Jimmie (Sherry) Dardeen, Jeff (Nikki) Dardeen, and Lonnie Dardeen; five daughters, Deborah (Tom) Griesemer, Jona (Tim Aldredge) Clardy , Carlena (Dewayne) Brewer, Sandra (Bill) Dooley, Brenda (Don) Jones; thirty one grandchildren; thirty nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sisters, Lynn (Donnie) Hinderliter, Karen Boyd and Judy Lambert; many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Earlene was preceded in death by her parents; son, Keith Harms; one great grandson; brothers, Tom Lambert, Clyde “Butch” Lambert; and sister, Laura Morgan.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 at Pentecostal Faith Assembly in Friendsville, IL.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 at Pentecostal Faith Assembly in Friendsville, IL with Brother Bill Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Friendsville Cemetery in Wabash County, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made in Earlene’s memory to Pentecostal Faith Assembly Building Fund. Envelopes will be at the church or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
