Obituary for Dr. Tom A. Wood
Dr. Tom A. Wood, 64, of Fort Smith passed away Saturday, Nov. 19th, 2016, in Tulsa, Okla. He was born March 27, 1952, in Mount Carmel, IL, to the late Bennie Delbert Wood and Charlene Labelle (Stoltz) Wood. Tom was a graduate of Mount Carmel High Class of 1970. He had his own practice, Wood Chiropractic. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith for thirty eight years, a member of the First Baptist Church Media Tape Ministry, a member of Gideon’s International and the Arkansas Chiropractic Association.
Celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. Cremation was under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Raquel; one son, Lee A. Wood of Fort Smith; three sisters, Dianna Sheehan of West Palm Beach, Fla., Gloria Smith of Mount Carmel, Ill., and Mary Christine Ligon of Olney, IL; two grandchildren, Lane and Madelyn Wood; two beloved sisters-in-law, Rose McLellan of Chicago, and Lupe Hernandez of Chicago; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Wood; and a sister, Janet Hicks.
In celebration of Tom’s memory, there will be a balloon release following the memorial service. BYOB, Bring Your Own Balloon.
