Obituary for Donald Ray Renner
Donald Ray Renner, 77, of Mount Carmel, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 29, 1939 in Wabash County, IL the son of Arthur and Emma (Deisher) Renner. He married Judyth Anne Miller on January 17, 1964 in Texarkana, Arkansas.

As a young man Don pumped gas for R&W Filling Station. He then faithfully served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1964 as a Petty Officer Third Class. He served on the USS Hector AR-7 while working as a Metalsmith. After leaving the Navy, Don worked in manufacturing and as a maintenance mechanic for a variety of businesses including, Max Yarbor’s Garage, Meissner’s Transformer Co., Pacific Press & Sheer, Eldorado Glass & Mirror and then retired in 2004 from Prescolite Manufacturing Company.

Don was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Being such a handy man, Don was a self-proclaimed inventor. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, deer hunting and the great outdoors. Don felt a call to ministry. He preached in several churches and was the Sunday School Superintendent at First Church Of The Nazarene in Mount Carmel where he was a faithful member.

Don will be remembered by his loving wife of fifty three years, Judy Renner; children, Velvet (Kenny) Glenn, Tina (Philip) Wooten, Brenda (Jesse Anderson) Swanson; grandchildren, Leslie Glenn, Phillip (Katie) Glenn, Toni Glenn, Chelsea Glenn, Ryan (Dana) Dunn, Nick (Yesenia) Dunn, Justin (Andria) Wooten, Jordan (Kaylee) Wooten, Eric (Samantha) Swanson, Kristy (Jeremy) Bray, Elizabeth (Daniel Dudley) Swanson; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Macy and Maya Glenn, Adler, London and Brooklyn Dunn, Junior Mendoza, Avon and Chloe Wooten, Tristan, Karson, Lola and Chandler Bray, Alayna Swanson, Jonah Dudley and one on the way.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norman, Everett Earl and Mearl; sisters, Virginia Earnst, Helen Stoltz, Rosemary Murphree, Alma Yarbor, LaDora Moutray and Bonnie Renner.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2017 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home Reverend Lloyd Simpson and Reverend James Brunner officiating. Burial will follow at Nye Chapel Cemetery in Wabash County IL with Full Military Honors.
