Obituary for Dennis Keith Shields
Dennis Keith Shields, 64, of Bone Gap, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Wabash General Hospital. He was born on August 1, 1955 in Highland, Michigan, the son of Jack and Barbara (Eck) Shields. He married Sherry Robinson Cox on October 8, 2006 and she survives.  Dennis faithfully served his country in the United States Army. He attended Hyles Anderson College to become a Minister. Dennis enjoyed traveling and camping. His family held a special place in his heart and he enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of Hope Fellowship Church. Dennis will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Dennis will be remembered by his loving wife of thirteen years, Sherry; sons, Robert Lee Robinson, Jeffery Eugene Cox; daughters, Doreen Kay Powell, Candice Dawn Shields, Angelique Nicole Knowles; five grandchildren; brothers, Mike Shields, Dale Shields; several nieces and nephews; former wife, Sheila Shields who raised his four children; and Robert Lee Robinson who was like a son to Dennis. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; son, James K. Shields; and brother, jack Shields. In keeping with Dennis’ wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Hope Fellowship Church, 1210 Landes Street in Mount Carmel, Illinois. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements. To view Dennis’ tribute wall, purchase flowers and leave condolences for the Shields family, please visit www.keepesfuneralhome.com
