Obituary for David Ralph "Spike" Barnes
David Ralph Spike Barnes, 47, of Mount Carmel, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at his residence. He was born on December 23, 1967 in Dublin, Georgia, the son of Charlie and Betty Fae (Crummley) Barnes. He married Mary Lynn Parr on December 23, 1995. Spike loved the outdoors. He enjoyed boating, fishing and grilling out with his boys. He worked all over the United States in construction as an iron worker. He was a Rigging Foreman; he was a hard worker and loved his work. The Barnes family would like to thank family and friends that have been there for Mary Lynn and the boys during this difficult time. Spike will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Betty Fae Barnes of Dublin, Georgia; wife, Mary Lynn Barnes of Bellmont, IL; two sons, Tyler Barnes and fiancé, MacKenzie Perry, Dylan Barnes and girlfriend, Gracie Walker both of Mount Carmel; granddaughter, Reise Nicoal Barnes; brother, Mark Barnes and wife Sophia of Dublin, Georgia; four nephews, Cameron and Joshua Barnes both of Dublin, Georgia, Dakota Dardeen and Brett Mayberry both of Mount Carmel; two nieces, Audrey Dardeen and Kelsey Mayberry both of MountCarmel; brother in law, William J. Dardeen. Spike was preceded in death by his father. A Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Gospel Kingdom Church, 1440 West 3rd Street, Mount Carmel with Reverend Brandon Hodgson officiating. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the Barnes family to Keepes Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses. Memorial envelopes will be available at the church or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry, Mount Carmel, IL 62863. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.
