Obituary for Connie Kaye Deisher
Connie Kaye Deisher, 68, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care & Rehab surrounded by her family. She was born on November 28, 1949 in Mount Carmel the daughter of Harry and Eleanor (Frye) Xanders. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School Class of 1968. Connie married Sherman Deisher on July 20, 1985 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2014. Connie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a very giving and selfless spirit and was always doing things for others. She was a housekeeper at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab for over forty years. She was very proud of her work and greatly enjoyed visiting with the residents. Her days were always brightened by her dogs whom she loved. Connie was a devoted member of First Christian Church and truly loved her church family. Connie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Connie will be remembered by her son, Kim (Heather) Baker of Mount Carmel; daughter, Kristia (Brandon) Brady of Flat Rock; brother, Larry (Debra) Xanders of Texas; sister, Cheryl Schell of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Logan Baker, Audrey Baker, Alex Baker and Eli Baker, Nancy (Eric) Kern, Ashley Wallace, Jessica (David) Reavis, Tyler Coomer, Brittany Coomer and Levi Brady; great grandchildren, Bryleigh Reavis, Kade Coomer, Levi Pohl, Briana Pohl; two nieces, Debbie Johnson and Jamie Hoffman; and one nephew, John Schell. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sherman Deisher; and infant sister. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2018 at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Doris Beckerman officiating.   Family and friends may gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s memory to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 N.
