Obituary for Clarence Doyle Phelps
Clarence Doyle Phelps, 77, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on January 21, 1944, in Morganfield, Kentucky, the son of Bailey and Francie (Yates) Phelps. Clarence was self-employed as a carpenter for many years. He loved the work he did and was very talented. He was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He liked to have fun and really enjoyed playing the craps table. He was a caring person, loved his family and will be dearly missed. Clarence leaves behind his children, Jimmy Phelps (Ward), Ricki Phelps, Craig Phelps; stepchildren, Gerry Harris, Rachel Edge; many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Rick (Bonnie) Phelps; sisters, Brenda Windle, Peggy Conners; many loved nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnny Phelps; brothers, Gene Phelps, Earl Phelps, Jack Phelps; and sister, Patty Phelps. Cremation will take place with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements. To view Clarence’s tribute wall and leave condolences for the Phelps family, please visit www.KeepesFuneralHome.com.
