Obituary for Charles A. "Buck" Dardeen
Charles A. “Buck” Dardeen, 94, of Mount Carmel, IL passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN with his family at his side. He was born on March 10, 1922 in Mount Carmel, IL the son of Alonza and Nora (Bodel) Dardeen. Buck married Schoha Southers who preceded him in death on October 24, 1987.
Buck faithfully served his country in the United States Army serving in World War II as a squad leader. During his service, Buck earned the Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Battle Stars and a Purple Heart Medal. He enjoyed life and treasured time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Buck was a member of Heartland Worship Center. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Buck will be remembered by his son, Tony Dardeen and his wife Judith of West Salem, IL; daughter, Taunya Dardeen Hutton of Mount Carmel; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Buck was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Schoha; brothers, Frank, Bernard, Bill, Louis, Leon, Walter and Marion; sisters, Martha Murphy; and granddaughter, Toni Renee Dardeen.
In keeping with Buck’s wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time. A burial will be held at a later date at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
