Obituary for Carl E. Reno
Carl E. Reno, 80, of Mount Carmel, IL, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN with his loving family by his side.
He was born on January 19, 1935 in Mount Carmel, IL the son of Frank and Opal (Wall) Reno.
Carl always had a smile and was known to be a very kind man. His family was his pride and joy, he treasured the time he spent with them especially his grandchildren. In his free time he enjoyed being outdoors camping with family. Carl retired from Snap On Tools in Mount Carmel where he worked for thirty nine years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his son, Stan (Lea) Reno of Robinson, IL; two daughters, Sherry (Terry) Stout and Kathy (Harold) Crackel both Mount Carmel; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Thomas of Hobbs, New Mexico; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, James, Roy, Roley and Ray Reno; sisters, Etta Miller and Hazel Wood.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Wall officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mount Carmel.
Memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to Good Samaritan Hospice, 520 South 7th Street, Vincennes, IN 47591. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
