Obituary for Betty L. Tipton
Betty L. Tipton,90, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 6, 1933 in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Jack and Iva May (Davis) Warner.
Betty was a loving mother and grandmother and treasured the time she spent with family. In her free time, Betty enjoyed crochet work and tending to her flower garden. Betty also liked being outdoors and taking care of her fish pond. She worked at St. Joseph Catholic School in Olney and Stringtown, IL as a cook for many years and enjoyed preparing meals for the students. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Betty will be remembered by her two sons, Gary Tipton and wife, Cindy, Mike Tipton and wife, Kay; one daughter, Rachael Ingram and husband, Jimmy; son in law, Marvin Ginder; grandchildren, Danielle, Justin, Steven, Jon, Sarah, Andy, Tyler, Renee, Cole, Kayla, TaLoni, Brock, Wade and Beau; twenty-three great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Debbie) Warner and Tom Warner.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph Tipton; daughter, Thea Ginder; granddaughter, M’Leah Ginder; and seven siblings.
A private family graveside service will be held at Dundas Cemetery in Richland County, Illinois with Father Robert Zwilling officiating.
